Take a walk on the wild side...

Joshua King, VP of Business Development and General Counsel at Avvo has great news for individuals looking to get started: For individuals doing straightforward projects (i.e., not non-profit/campaign fundraising or business investment) there’s not a need for a lot of legalese. It’s really just a matter of being clear about what you’re doing with the money and then following through. So what should your first step be? Go to Blogger (blogger), set up a blog, grab a domain name for two years, and set up one social publishing outlet to serve as your outpost. Posterous (Posterous) and WordPress.com are viable options, but don’t spend any money on your own Wordpress (WordPress) hosted blog until you start to make some money. Blogger and the two-year registration gives you SEO juice, and focusing on one outpost allows you to build, manage, and maintain your community. You don’t need to be everywhere to be successful.
